After following the news and debating weather or not to post this new message board I decided the time has come for a place like this. Last week while playing in a small club with his new band Damage plan. Darrel Abbott Lead guitar player for the band and former pantarea gutarist was brutally Gunned down. I met the guy a few years back when Pantera played in Syracuse and the night was one I wont forget for a long time . I have yet to laugh as hard as I did with him and Vin that night.At the time Life had dealt me a crappy hand. I listened to heavy metal hard core and It made a diff. Any ways From what I gather the idiot who did the shooting walked in back stage un inhibited by security , walked up to Darrel and put 2 out of 4 shots from his 9 into the mans head . The shooter was all bent out of shape because Darrel and Vin left Pantera and formed DamagePlan.I hate scum like this.You did not here me cry when Metalica sold out or when the Crue went there own way . Nothing ever stays the same.After the 1st 2 shots a club security staff and a few of the band members tried to stop Gale .Gale got off several more shots killin 4 more people including 2 fans .Vinnie paul and Darrel left Pantera because of personal conflict and formed the new band.He will be greatly missed By all.My heart goes out to all 5 who lost there life December 8th At the Alrosa VIlla Colubus Ohio that night.
